Ceramics Classes
We have 2 types of class offerings: Ongoing classes & Themed multi-week classes.
Ceramics Classes are held at our 111 Water Street location
The studio at 111 Water Street is equipped with 12 pottery wheels, a slab roller, an extruder, and a large hand-building table with a range of tools and molds. We offer a variety of cone 6 clay bodies and food-safe glazes.
Ongoing Classes
Ongoing classes are perfect for individuals who want to explore ceramics without committing, need additional guidance, or require flexibility due to a busy schedule. These classes are open to beginners and advanced students! Please note: You will not complete a piece in one class. To make a ceramic pot, the clay is first formed when wet, then edited, dried, fired, glazed, and fired again. Multiple class sessions (minimum 3-4) will be necessary to complete a piece. If you want to take one class, ask your instructor about our option to have us fire and finish your work for $25/piece.
We have three ongoing ceramics classes: Hand Building, Wheel Throwing, and Community Wheel. Your instructor will walk you through each stage of the making process, from forming to glazing. These classes are student-led, so you can come to class with a project idea or ask your instructor for a specific demo!
Hand Building and Wheel Throwing are $40 per person for each class, and Community Wheel is $20 per person offered every other Sunday. You may also purchase a discounted class pack below. Clay, glaze, and 1 hour of open studio time is included with each session; firing fees are an additional 6 cents per cubic inch per piece. We offer community tools, but recommend bringing your own. Members can use the code MEMBER for 50% off Ongoing Classes.
Themed Classes
Themed multi-week classes are taught over a series of weeks and focus on a specific topic. Clay, glaze, and unlimited open studio time come with multi-week classes while in session. Open studio is available from 10 am to 8 pm, 7 days a week; firing fees are an additional 6 cents per cubic inch per piece. Multi-week classes are non-refundable, and can be rescheduled up to one week before the class start date. Most Intro classes include a beginner tool kit. We offer community tools, but recommend bringing your own. You may purchase a tool kit from our Shop page. Check out the codes associated with each class description for early registration and for members. If a member misses the early bird window - use MEMBERMULTI at checkout for 15% off.
